Dynamic modification of X axis scale

I have a graph and its associated table with time serie values.
With the parameter TimeRate (H or D) i must graph hourly values or daily values.
X axis values must be for daily values between 1 to 31 and 0 to 24 for hourly values.
How can i dynamically modifing the formatting of x axis ?
