Hi all,

I've just setup my first SBS 2003 box (ISA 2004 and 2 Nic's). It's sitting behind a Cisco PIX and I will soon forward the relevant ports from the Pix to the external Nic of the server. Before I do that, I need to setup my DynDNS account as I can't get a static IP address from my ISP. Can anyone tell me how I go about this ? I've never used dynamic dns before and don't know where to start. What I want is for my Exchange server to have mail sent directly to it and to have access to RWW when away from the office. I've created a certificate and the FQDN in this case is 'server.sbs.local'. Any help will most certainly be appreciated. Many thanks.

Regards Colin.

I don't know the Pix menus but many new firewalls are support this option. Check if it is there or not. otherwise you will need to go to the DynDNS site and download one of their programs and run it as a service to report your IP up to their web site.

You will need to trash the certificate you made and make a new one. Your FQDN will be something like company.dyndns.org. The certificate needs to match the FQDN and your .local address cannot be used on the Internet.

I hope you find this post helpful.

Regards,

Mark
