I have a customer that have a Adaptec Raid o his server . with 6 disk RAID 10 + 1 disk HotSpare.
He has some problems with this server ( Windows 2003 ), every couple of days is freezing , no one can connect , but ping is working.
He told me that , the HotSpare disk is with one led RED offline, but in Adaptec BIOS this disk appear OK. Since one week he take off from server HotSpare disk, and since that the server is working OK, no freezing ( !!! only for couple of days, today it start again to freeze !!!)
When I take a look in Disk Management I see that RAID Volume, disk 0 , is Dynamic ( IS THIS OK with Hard RAID???? ) and its appear with Warnings.
Customer told me, that this warnings appear only from the day that he take off from server HotSpare disk.
With my knowledge I know that in Windows , HotSpare disk is not present, because all the job is made by RAID Controller.
It is some problem with dynamic disk and RAID Hardware?
