Dynamic Disk/Expandable Volume Problem

I have a server on Win2kAdv. I want to be able to add disks to this server and set them up as dynamic disks so I can extend my volume onto them.

All of the disks in this server are 146Gb, so I want to include the disk that I install the OS on or I am wasting most of the space on it.

My question is, how do I make the first disk dynamic when the OS install will set it up as basic ? If I susbsequently change it to dynamic and try to expand the volume I get a message telling me that I can't as it was created as a basic disk.

Is there any way around this or does this mean that the first disk I use when installing the OS can neber form part of an expandable volume ??

Any help/advice would be very much appreciated.

Thanks.

You might be better off using Partition Magic to just resize the OS part of the disk & share out the space you gain accordingly.

You'd need to remember to leave enough free space on the OS bit for the paging file though.
