We are receiving some pushback from Avaya on the ability to use DWDM equipment on a new fiber network that will connect two PBX's. Avaya claims that the DWDM might cause problems. Anyone ever done this?

DWDM fiber link between two Definities

Interesting idea. Since the the link is syncronous and latency sensative I agree you may encounter problems. Even Single mode fiber with 300A Tranceivers are limited to 22 miles. You would probably be better off looking at an ATM solution (WASP). James Middleton
