Hi all,
I just BOUGHT the new MX 2004, but I can't keep the workspace to open in different windows. I hate the all in one window thing, as it's TOTALLY jarred and hard to oversee. WHen I tested MX2004 it allowed me to use the old workspace setting, which opened in different windows. But not now. Where is that setting? Any ideas?

Edit Preferences>General>Change Workspace also make sure that the page that is open is not maximised

Thanks, but I tried that a number of times already, but it just allows me to move the site list to the left or right... what I want is to have each page open in it's own window... any ideas?

sounds like the windows are maximised within the Dreamweaver panel. Close all pages then open just on and tile it then close that page. Each window should then open in a new window.

nope. I've done that over and over. The windows are NOT maximized and I even tried DW not maximized. but it still won't show an option in the preferences-general-change workspace to open each page in a new window. when I open a page it still opens within the DW panel as does the site files view... is it perhaps hidden in a different setting? any idea where else I might find out?
Thank you so much for keeping trying with me...

Cheech,
I believe the problem is with DW MX 2004 - when I tested the software I had the MX version (not 2004) and it did indeed show the setting options you talk about. But now in 2004 it just says: Not sure now, if there still is a way to use the 'old' layout...

In your screenshot there is a "Change Workspace" option. On my DW that gives a choice of DreamWeaver 4 workspace or MX

Yes, I use the DW MX in work and that's exactly what comes up, but now I have DW MX 2004 and I'm not finding any such option anywhere...

Given Cheech's picture - if one of those windows are maximized, a tab appears above them & they are all maximized. To reverse just toggle the 'Restore Down' / 'Maximize' for the workspace. At least that works for me. Good luck.
