I use DW mainly for the code highlighting different colours.

I never use the design view, only code view. As I hand code all my own code, I use my own indentations for how I like to view the code.

For some files DW when I open the file, immediately rejigs the code around into a format it chooses, and a * appears next to the filename in the titlebar indicating the page has not been saved.

Is there a way to turn this off as it is very annoying.

In prefs, I have 'Never rewrite code' ticked (although it is greyed out) but it continues to do it. arrrrggggghhhhh

yep bugs the hell out of me sometimes as well.

It's the tag libraries. Edit -> Tag Libraries

If you code them differently it will set them according to the library layout.

adding your normal page extension to the "do not rewrite" list should fix it.

Chris.

Indifference will be the downfall of mankind, but who cares?
Woo Hoo! the cobblers kids get new shoes.

So long, and thanks for all the fish.

Grrrrrrrrrr, I have .asp added to the do not rewrite (in prefs) and ticked.

Looks like it's a case of going through the tag editor and putting it how I want. :(
