DVD-ROM to widescreen tv 1

I have a dvd rom which runs on my pc with no hardware decoder, my only video output from PC is the 15 pin D type connnector which my monitor plugs into. my question is, is it possible to run a cable from 15 pin D type to the yellow video connector( or scart) on my widescreen TV ? If in doubt get the Ball Pein Hammer out
