Hi!

I have a Hollywood+ (newest driver v. 1.8.2), wich I've connected to my TV. My problem is that i get no colors on the TV. The picture is alright except for the colors (so Macrovision is NOT the issue - I've already tried Zoneselector and Universal selector).

My TV:
Samsung TV with two scart plugs + 1 comopsite in.

My PC:
Hollywood+ (original sigma model)
Pioneer 104s 10x DVD

I've tried to send the signal to the TV through both s-vhs (converted through scart - I've tried with two different scart converters) and composite (=it is not damaged cables that causes the problem) with the same result: no colors.

converting between NTSC and PAL is not the problem either since I experience the same problem with both region 1 and 2 movies...

I really hope that any of you guys can help 'cause I'm getting desperate (sigma designs own support has been unable to help :( ).

PLEASE HELP!

try changing your TV out option, from PAL to NSTC

I've had the same problem, only to fix it, by changing the format. or forcing the format

This is not the issue (I've already tried). Also: My TV supports all formats (PAL, PAL60, NTSC 3.56, NTSC 4.46 (can't remember the ecsact NTSC numbers... but they are about 3.56 and 4.46).
By the way: in advanced options in dvd station (DVD player supplied with card), there is an option to ajust the video frequency (or somthing like that - it's running from 0-120), this I have also already tried.

Then I must ask if you are using the correct S-Video to RCA Adapter, I also had the problem when using the Adapter that came with my video card (TV Out) rather than the adapter that came with the Decoder.

I asume you are talking about the S-vhs to composite adapter bundled with the H+ card... I am pretty sure we can leave that case behind since I also get the error with s-vhs ( the s-vhs to composite adapter isn't used in this case, remember).

(Im not easy to satisfy, am I!?) :) (anyway I REALLY repreciate your effort! -not many have dared dealing with my problem).

RCA or composite... it is the same.
(I checked some pictures at this address:

)

I am not using it since the s-vhs cable that is plugged into the H+ card goes directly into the s-vhs-in port on the scart converter wich again is plugged into the TV...
(In other words: I don't convert the signal since there is no need to)

Illustrated:

H+ card |--- s-vhs out------s-vhs in---|scart|TV

Also: when I used composite (RCA) I used the converter that was supplied with the card...

oh so you got it going directly on S-video cable, no composite in between, well you sure you got the settings set to use Svideo

to tell you what I mean, as to being stupid, I use those adaters

H+ -> Adapter -> RCA Cable -> Adapter back to Svideo -> TV

you end up with Black and white, so the same effect in my theory would cause this, if you just use a straight S-Video, but still have the machine output via Componsite signal.

since when you use RCA adapters, or have a composite signal, you are no longer using the 2 other pins on the SVHS(as you like to call it) cable

methinks Karl is right, you've inadvertantly lost the Chroma from the signal by a mismatch in cable choice and signal selection.

So, basicly my I will have to (1) convert from s-VIDEO (is that better? :) ) to composite with the bundled cable. (2) Then via a comosite cable convert it again into s-vhs and (3) THEN convert it again via my scart? (!) (could give some terrible signal distortion...)

But hey, if thats what it takes - so be it - I'll give it a shot...

well actually I was thinking more of keeping it Svhs S-Video, and just making sure in the software, that it's sending the signal out as S-Video and not as Composite.

Well, actually, I've checked that already... Besides, my DVD player is able to detect wether it is s-vhs or composite that is plugged into the H+ card, so I haven't even got the option of changing it, since the software detects it automaticly... My TV doesn't care if the signal is s-video or composite either, since both signals are put through scart...
