My DVD drive runs DVD's perfect but will not run CD-ROMS anymore, it used to run them fine but suddenly stopped reading them altogether?? WHY??

Did you try cleaning it? Did you try different CD's that you had verified in another player? Post a little more information and the troubleshooting you've done so far. As always, I hope that helped!

No I havn't tried cleanong it yet!! Do I have to get a a DVD-ROM drive cleaner or a CD-ROM cleaner?? the CD-ROM cleaner is also £8 cheaper!! All the CD's that used to work no longer work!! If its dirty then why does it still read DVDS perfect??

Hmm... I'd like some system info... manufacturer and model of your DVD/CDRom?

The first thing I'd try is re-installing the drivers. Also, check the manufacturer's website to see if there is a newer driver than the one you are using.

For those more experienced with this hardware,,,,
Is the DVD and CDROM read from the same laser? Are there two?

good luck

The drive is a Samsung 606F, i dont know if there are 2 lasers???
