Hi,
my XPs DVD drive:

TSSTCORP_DVD+-RW_TS-H553A

shows as a DVD+-RW in the device manager but explorer seems to see it as a DVD-RW - is this a real issue or can I still use DVD +RW disks to create DVDs? ( about to start buying DVD RW disks and wan tto get the right ones.

I think that is just a dash in Explorer and not a 'minus' sign. It means it is a DVD 'read and write' drive.

Hi,
Thanks...I sorta' thought that, but nice that someone else concurs..

If I have any issue with burning with it an +RW disks I'll repost.

Hi,
Thanks..

It is working as expected so the Explorer listing was a dash after all, as Jim thought.

I am using RealPlayer SP's DVD Burning tools ( uses a Nero engine, I think )and it exceeds what I expected ( I have used Ashampoo previously , on another machine, but is was a little flaky with DVDs that froze or skipped - could have been me, but RealPlayer's burner works great)
