DVD Decoder

I have a Toshiba Satellite 4600 laptop with windows 2000 operating system.

My DVD drive doesn't work. On inserting DVD it comes up with the following error msg:

"There is no Windows 2000 compatible DVD decoder installed on this system. A DVD decoder device or decoder software is required to play movies. (a DVD drive alone is not sufficient).

Where do i get the right decoder for my DVD?

If your display supports DVD playback, try Toshiba's website or contact them directly to obtain the correct software (which should have come with the laptop). If you had the DVD player install after the fact, the video device in the laptop may not support DVD playback.
