Are you putting the CD/DVD in the same drive, or in a different drive?
I have been doing quite a bit of work on a Sony DRU-120. sometimes the software doesn't acknowledge the newer technology, and other times it is the drive I am trying to play the disks I have made on, the older drives don't recognize the +R/RW disks.
I know that the DRU-500 is supposed to have the ability to work both technologies ( -R/RW & +R/RW ). But, since I have not actually worked with that certain drive yet, I wonder if there is some kind of toggle to use somewhere to burn either as -R/RW OR as +R/RW.
Also, which edition of Roxio are you using? I do know that I have been having alot of problems with Easy CD Creator 5 Platinum and the DVD burner, even with ALL the possible updates/upgrades I can get my hands on.
I switched to Nero 5.5.9 Burning ROM software AND I have also used Roxio's WinOnCD 5.03 and NTI CD Maker 6.0 without any problems ( or at least as many problems as Easy CD Creator ). I prefer Nero overall, it is very easy to use.
I have noticed that certain DVD players will play the disks I make and others won't recognize them at all. I would try the disks in different players ( if you have access to any ) before throwing them away ( as a friend of mine has been doing, LOL ).
I have 2 APEX DVD Players, one is an older model than the other. The DVD's I burn will only play on the newer model ( funny thing is I bought the older model almost a year after I bought the other one, and didn't know it was older until I started having trouble playing DVD's I was making ).
Good Luck
Laterzzz,
Jim
