I am trying to find an easy way of duplicating a formula in a colum and changing the row number each time. can someone help me plz?

I'm not sure that I understand exactly what you are trying to accomplish.

What application is this? Excel?

It sounds like you just want to copy a formula from one row to another and have the row reference change accordingly. Is that correct?

Also, the formula you are using - or an example - would help.

Have you tried any of the following:
Copy 'n' Paste?
Auto-fill?
Drag-fill?

yes it is excel and you are correct. the formula is a2+d2+f2= i have tried copy in paste but that would take a long time cause i would have to change the row number each time. the auto-fill and drag-fill fuctions i have not heard of.

Here are several options:

1)
-Select the cells where you want this formula.
-Type in the formula.
-Press [Ctrl]+[Enter] to enter the formula into all selected cells.

2)
-Hover the cursor over the bottom right corner of the cell containing the formula until the cursor changes to a bold plus sign (+).
[tab]A)
-click and drag the formula down as far as you need
or
[tab]B)
-double click for the formula to be automatically populated down as far a the column to the left is filled.

Not SO!

Copy the CELL containing the formula.

SELECT the CELLS you want to paste into.

PASTE.
