First of all; thank you in advance for ANY help on this topic! I have been tasked with comparing two text files that show the directory structure of two drives. (At the command prompt I keyed in C:\dir /b/s >c:\drive1.txt and then the same for the second drive to d:\drive2.txt) NOW I would like to know if there are ANY duplicate files listed between the two text files. I have already imported them into Excel 2000 using the "\" as a separator. Then, after creating two workbooks, I exported the data out to Access. In Access I TRIED to create a primary key between the two but there are a LOT of blank cells. Again, ANY advice would be GREATLY appreciated!!! FYI-I would prefer to JUST use the programs just mentioned instead of some third party application.
