HI.
Info:
Small network (10-20) clients, one W2K SP2 server with E2K SP2 (normal Exchange not SBS).
FAXPORT (from 3com) Fax software installed on a member NT4 server.
FAXPORT CONNECTOR FOR E2K installed on the E2K server.
The FAXPORT software routes incoming faxes via the Connector for E2K to a specific mailbox on the E2K server.
(This software does not support routing to a public folder).
Outlook 2000 runs 24h on the E2K server and has a rule set on the specific mailbox to move incoming fax messages (by checking the subject line) to a specific public folder.
Yes, I know its not a good habit to run OL2K 24h on the server.
Do you have an alternate solution?
I have tryed the "Delivery Options" but that seems not to work when trying to auto forward from mailbox to public folder.
The problem:
Many times, but not always, an incoming fax is duplicated and appears twice in the public folder - 2 identical instances of the same message.
Same subject, date, attachments, etc in 2 messages in the public folder, for a single received fax.
When I disable the rule in Outlook, I see that the fax messages are received only once, so the problem seems to be Outlook/E2K related and not to be caused by the fax software, however I'm not sure yet.
Any tips and requests for more details are welcome.
Bye
