Duplicate DNS entry

Hi,

I am getting a very strange error. Every so often, I notice I cannot connect to my mail server or the file server. I fire open the DNS manager on W2K Server and I notice that a duplicate entry has been created for my server with the same IP address as another user's machine on the network.
After I remove the duplicate entry, it all continues as normal.

Does anyone have any ideas why this might be happening?

Have you checked that user's machine to ensure that the IP address has not been statically assigned, and that update DNS enabled?
