Duplicate appointments

I have a user using Outlook 2000 and Exchange 5.5 who has a large number of appointments that are duplicated. They appear to be exactly the same in every way, although I'm not sure how he managed this, maybe through sync'ing his PDA.

Does anyone know of a way to quickly get rid of duplicate items?
