Dual Screen XP PowerPoint Presentations

I recently upgraded from MS office 2000 PowerPoint to XP PowerPoint for the better transitions. I work with at least 3 presentations open at a time, because of the nature of the show. Usually, the largest presentation will come in at approx. 20 Megs and 150-200 slides.

I often need to modify a slide while it is on the screen. This was easy in PP 2000 since the "design view" was brought up on the laptop screen with the "display slide" on the projector.

Sometimes PP-XP will do this at first, but always cuts out when jumping in and out of presentations.

The "presenters" mode does not allow for changes to live work and does not bring up the current slide in the "designers screen". (This would be OK if I knew where the speaker was going to go, but I have to wing it most of the time, hence the need for modifications.)

So the question is, how do I get the two screens to advance together so that I do not have to advance the show slide, exit the show, advance the laptop slide, and resume the show 200 times a presentation?

Thank you in advance.
