Dual Processors Nt4 Compaq Proliant

Hello,

We have a Proliant 800 server capabable of dual processors, with only one currently. Is adding a second processor simply a matter of installing it, or are there issues in NT I will have to watch out for. Also, can I simply remove the second processor and return to our original configuration if necessary?

You can't just plug in another Proc.

The NT HAL layer will be different causing NT not to start.

Actually I am not sure that is entirely accurate. Some years ago I did exactly this using only Compaq tools, and it worked flawlessly. Check with Compaq first.
