when installing w7, it will ask you if you wish to UPGRADE or CLEAN install, do the CLEAN install then point the setup to a free partition with enough space...
The installer detects VISTA and will add it to the BOOTMANAGER of W7...
no more no less, all really hassle free (gone are the days that XP overwrote the MBR and BOOT BLOCKS)...
