Dear TEk friends,

I had Windows Me on the C drive (first partition of a 40G) and when I did a new Installation for XP It landed on the D drive (Second partition) Well, after considerable use and having reached a comfort level with XP I decided to wip the ME to save space. The only way I could think of was to format the c and see if I could boot up with XP only. I did not think that they intermingled because D: was an NTFS partition and ME was Fat32. After the format, what I feared has occured. At first, there was the horrible inaccesebility of the disk. Afterwards I did fdisk and set the D as the active partition and now when I boot all it has is a curser blinking. Any ideas?

Have you gone into the BIOS and changed the boot option from C: to D:?

You could also try using Partition Magic to make boot discs and you can then convert the drive or reallocate space. It has helped me get out of similar jams.
