I have a computer with Windows XP installed. Now I want to make a dual boot system with a Windows 2000, but everywhere I read about dual boot systems they suggest to install XP after 2000.
It is also possible to do it the other way? Install a 2000 after an XP?
1. There's no need to boot from win98 boot floppy, you can boot from 2k install CD and install as nornal (different partition to XP as stated).
2. There's normally no need to boot into XP recovery console. Just replace the ntldr & ntdetect.com with the ones from the XP CD while booted normally into 2k. When you reboot, both menu options should work (if not, then use recovery console as described).
3. You might want to edit boot.ini to make XP default.
