Dual Boot Operating system's and hiding a HD

I want to have a seconday Harddrive on my computer, with a separate operating system from which to boot my system from, so that my family does not mess up my files and programs when they mess up theirs. Is there any way that I can somehow hide the one harddrive in the Win2K 1st install, and be able to boot my Win2k still? Or to somehow block them from harming it with the virus's that they aquire on their opperating system, and serparate system disk?
