Hi,
I had a dual boot system that let me choose between XP Pro and Vista on boot. I've had to reinstall XP pro but now my system only boots into XP and I'm unsure how to get back into my vista installation.

Has anyone got any advice on how I can correct this situation? I really need to get into my Vista installation.

A massive thanks for any help you can give me

Cheers

Yes...

boot up with the VISTA CD in the PC...

then choose the FIX BOOT option...

XP and VISTA have different BOOT BLOCKS, and reinstalling XP wiped the VISTA one, which of course can BOOT XP and VISTA, whereas the XP one can only boot XP, unless you hand edit the BOOT.INI file of XP...

A big thanks for all your help. I managed to sort it in the end by putting in my original Vista disk and running through the instructions posted in Lemon13's link.

I didn't think it had worked but then it rebooted and bingo! I had my dual boot functionality back.

I'm now typing this in Vista and I'm a happy bunny.

Thanks again for all your help.
