DTS Problem on XP

I have an app that executes DTS packages, and everything works great on a 2000 machine, but fails on an XP machine. I tried running the DTS package from Enterprise manager on the XP box and it failed there too. I ran the same DTS package in Enterprise Manager on the 2000 box and everything was fine. The errors seem to be generated because the datatypes of the fields are not being read correctly. Has anyone run into this? If so, how do you correct it?
