I really don´t know why my S8500 R12 does not send the DTMF Tones when some user makes a call and is required to collect digits. The digits dialed are not reconized by the other endpoint.
It is only with the Ip phones, not with the digital or analog phones. I think I have unabled some feature referring to the DTMF tones.

Any idea?

Thanks

Hello,

Try checking "system-parameters ip-options" form and H.323 signaling group forms.

There are some options there for DTMF tones and IP stations and trunks...

Petran.

This can be resolved on the DS1 form. Change the DCP/analogue bearer capabilty to "Speech" instead of 3.1k.

Should resolve this problem.

Trying is the first step on the road to failure

I think changing the option in the DS1 form does not solve the problem because it do the same even in internal calls. If I call the Intuity AUDIX (internal call) it does not reconize the tones.
In any case I will try it and thanks in advance.

In that case check the vintages of your analogue boards. If they are TN2215s between vintage 10 and 12 then that is the problem. Try a different vintage or a TN2183 or TN468b instead. Pretty sure this will be the fix.

I appreciate your help but I do not get the relation between the problem and the analogue boards. That problem is only related to the Ip phones. The analog phones send properly the DTMF tones. I can guess that is something that I have mistaken in the programing or something that I forgot.

Thanks a lot.

Again....

Try checking "system-parameters ip-options" (for DTMF & IP stations settings) and H.323 signaling group forms (for DTMF through IP trunks)

Petran.

Petran,

as soon as I can I will check that point.
Now I am checking it in my Definity (which is a R9.5) and the only options in that form are:

IP-OPTIONS SYSTEM PARAMETERS

IP MEDIA PACKET PERFORMANCE THRESHOLDS
Roundtrip Propagation Delay (ms) High: 800 Low: 400
Packet Loss (%) High: 40 Low: 15
Ping Test Interval (sec): 20
Number of Pings Per Measurement Interval: 10

I don´t know if it is a different form in R.12 showing something related to the DTMF tones, because in R9.5 all this form is about the ping intervals.
ASAP I will check your note.

Thanks for the interest.

Try with parameter Loss Group in change station window. I resolve this problem changing from Loss Group 2 to 3.

Hi,
I just resolved the problem last week on my S8700. R12
the bug should come from DS1 card.
So you have to the following commands:
Warning : this command cut all current communication on related DS1. For example i consider one of your ds1 board
(pri access board) is 01a02
- busyout board 01a02
- change ds1 01a02
- in field Connect : you should have 'pbx', replace with 'network'. En type f3 (enter)
- once again change ds1 01a02
- replace 'network' by 'Pbx'
- release board 01a02.
if you want to test on one DS1, remove one trunk from your group and create a specific trunk gr with thi trunk and place a call with the tac code assigned for this new trunk grôup
Keep me informed
Good Luck,
French loves S8700

Just days before I heard that solution from a friend, but I don´t know why return to PBX connection and doesn´t stay at Network connection.

In any case, thanks for the interest, and ASAP I change it I will tell you the result.
