.DTF file in Notes E-mail

Has anyone come across the problem of receiving attachments in Lotus Notes but instead of the actual file sent you receive a .DTF file?

I'm aware that this is an exchange header file used when sending to Notes but I do not know why this file is received or why the original document is not there/useable...or how to fix it.

I have heard of this problem before, but cannot remember the cure. Post it again in the Notes forum, they're bound to know.
