I am trying to set up a development environment for an application not originally developed by my company. Everything is ok except that the DSR file (reports) refuse to open. I get the following message...
Line 2: Class {BD4B4E61-F7B8-11D0-964D-00A0C9273C2A} of control crwExport was not a loaded control class.
Line 0: The file C:\Checked Out Files\CSM\VB\crwExport2.Dsr could not be loaded.

Do you have the correct version of crystal reports installed? Check your references and see if any are marked as 'MISSING'.

Thanks for the reply.

There are no missing entries in references or components

I am getting a message when i first open the project file

"version 2.2 of <path>crviewer.dll is not registered. The control will be upgraded to version 8.0"

Could this be part of the problem? Is there any way of converting it to look at version 8 instead? Am I on a highway to nowhere??

Thanks again

I am not sure if there is a conversion method or tool. Other than rebuilding the reports in version 8. Not bad is if is simple and you can cut and paste.

Otherwise you might have to look for a solution in one of the Crystal Report forums or in their knowledge base.
