dropping frames

Hi,
I dont think this is the right forum, but i am capturing into premiere so i thought i would try
Was wondering if anyone here has captured video footage thru a WinFast PVR card?? I am capturing thru mine and am having trouble with dropped frames, does anyone know what settings to use to make sure no frames are dropped and to ensure highest quality??

make sure you have no background programs running
(ie virus scanner - disconnetc your machine from the net if you do this )

what kind of signal are you using?
what file format are you capturing to?

thanks wizywig, i will try turning off all background apps. I am capturing to raw AVI and using a analouge signal (straight from the video recorder to the computer.)

You may need to look into getting a DAC100 converter (

) to handle analog signals correctly.

Analog has the tendency to drop frames depending on how fast your computer can capture. the DAC100 can help you eliminate most of that from happening.
