Hi all,

I have a puzzling situation. I have a DS3 line between two buildings. Whenever anyone create tremendous outburst of traffic between the two buildings the line bounces, and keeps dropping until the individual finish or end the task.
This have been going on for about 2 months and I can't figure out the problem, I'm not getting any errors on any of my hardware, I rebooted all the switches, routers, etc. and they all booted up fine. I had verizon do a stress test on the line and it came back clean.
Has anyone had this problem before?
Atleast if I could find the culprit, who causes the traffic each day I could contain the issue until I find the problem. Could anyone recommend any software to monitor who's causing spike and whom their talking to?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Depending on what model of cisco router you have , you could implement netflow on the serial interface , under the interface just type ip route-cache flow ,enter . To look at the traffic flows and who is doing what from the command line just do a show ip cache flow and you can tell who is really driving the traffic . also comes in handy when tracking down infected end users.

Like BuckWeet assure the clocks are configured correctly and you and the provider agree. Also check the DS3 config between you and the provider. If you are not config the same you could get this kind if problem. Assure you both are talking the same language/definations.
