I have an HP pavilion laptop, with a wireless internet connection.....recently I have had problems with a blue screen popping up with DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL displayed....it seems to only happen when I'm online and not that often at that....also it seems to have happened more than once while playing partypoker....i have already removed the program and redownloaded and installed it to no avail as per microsofts suggestions.....any advice would be greatly appreciated

I had some serious problems with this blue screen a year ago on WinXP Home !!

I tried several suggestions but nothing seemed to work. A few possible solutions that have worked for some people is are as follows...

IMPORTANT: DO NOT CARRY ANY OF THIS OUT UNLESS YOU KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING. IF YOU DO NOT - GET SOMEONE WHO DOES. Make sure you take the necessary anti-static precautions. Opening up your PCs case may invalidate the warranty

1. Bad RAM - try swapping out ram chips to see if a faulty one can be found.

2. Move the cards that take up the PCI slots to different locations. This will force Windows to re-assign IRQ values to the cards and could possibly resolve any conflict. If you need to see what is using what IRQ look at the system infomation (start-programs-accessories-system tools-system information) and look in the hardware resources section under IRQs.

3. try the paging file solution here
4. Ensure all your drivers are up to date and correctly inctalled.

5. remove one piece of hardware at a time to try and locate the offending item.

Keep trawling the Net - You are not alone with this problem.

My issue was never resolved and eventually the box went back for a re-build.

I hope this has been of some help.
