Hi all,

I am in desperate need of help! I appologise for the length of this post but relevant details are needed to explain my issues.

I have a customer that has just upgraded to 4 new machines. I have built them all and set them up 1 per weekend over the last 3 weeks (this weekend being the last one)

Yestarday I get a call saying that one of the machines (the main one) is crashing randomly with an IRQL_NOT_LESS_THAN_OR_EQUAL error which reboots the machine. (this machine has worked for 3 weeks prior to this)

I go to investigate and find the machine in a bad state. It crashes a LOT and reboots at will. I decide its probably a driver issue of some kind and decide that rather than trouble shooting I will reinstall windows and see what happens. I reinstall and during reinstall I get a reboot and blue screen.
Not good!

I decide that rather than messing about with the machine I will build the new (remaining) machine and take away the older one to fix at my lesuire. I build the new machine and it won't boot (I know others reading this have had similar nightmares as this!) I check all bios settings etc all seem ok. (long story short - I find its the remaining memory stick thats faulty, which i replace with the memory stick from the older machine)

Windows installs, Install devices, drivers and the IDE part of the 4 in 1 drivers. Everything is OK....

I install all her software, recreate her email and setup the internet connection. Everything is OK....

We put her data back onto the second partition from backup. Everything is OK....

it is now 10 hours since i initially arrived and 1.30 AM!!!

Then....

The NEW machine reboots itself with exactly the same issue! IRQ_NOT_LESS_THAN_OR_EQUAL!!

I am poleaxed!!! It took a LONG time to install everything, set everything up etc....!

I leave for the night and research the problem and find that it could be one of many things!

I go back this morning and take out her modem. I unconnect the printer, and unplug the DVD drive. (these are the ONLY common denominators between machines)

The problem remains!

I REALLY need help on this one, I am going back tonight but need more ideas as to how to trouble shoot this issue!

I have read a thousand posts, and I believe all microsoft KB articles on this problem. I know that its a driver trying to access memory that it cant.

But HOW do I solve it?? Remember the machine is totally new (same spec, but different components) There is now NOTHING the same with both systems excepting the monitor (which has been working with it fine)

What the hell happened? Any ideas would be GREATLY appreciated...

Thanx for your help folks, I always find what I need here.

Thanx again BC, I havn't got any USB devices plugged in. Her printer is an old parralell type and mouse and keyboard are PS2.
Surely to have that issue I would need to have one plugged in yes?

Kutter.

Kutter,

Yes. odd, odd, odd.
Are there any BIOS updates for this motherboard?
