Drive Stopped is indicated even when backup is complete!

I am running BE 9.0 on an NT server, it is up-to-date with all the latest patches and builds; I notice in the morning that the backup completed successfully but the HP Surestore Tape Autoloader states "Drive Stopped" and it flashes on the tape that is loaded. It appears to take a long time to finalize the process and eject the tape, any reason this could be happening? This was never an issue before until recently.
