I wonder if someone could define DRILLDOWN, how it is used in CR and what SUPRESS(NO DRILL DOWN) means.

Thanks for your help, it is appreciated. David Abineri

Hi!

drilldown actually means: you first see the record (master record or the head.) under each of the master records, u see the corresponding details.

and when you suppress, the details are hidden from view. but you can still take advantage of the fact that, the details have been printed on the report (but of course they are hidden) like for instance, you can show only the subtotals or the grand total of a field of the detail records.

hope this answers your question.

DavidA-

Drilldowns are there to make the report easier for your users to view.

When you use drilldowns the main report that you see when you first bring it up will have the uppermost level of info on it. For example, a balance sheet for the entire year. (summary data only)

When you drill down on a piece of data within that report you will go layer by layer deeper into the report to be able to see different accounts, different months, etc that are in there but they are "hidden" so that the main report only gives the user the basic info they want but still brings in the details for them if they decide they want to look at it later.

When you suppress this function it does not let it drilldown to the details that are "underneath" the main report.

Make sense?
