I'm in the process of downloading Dreamweaver's Ultradev strictly for use with ACCESS and Coldfusion to create a site for a client that has a monster database.

has anyone used this program - any thoughts on it's use in conjunction with coldfusion. I currently use cf studio 4.5 as my development tool but with this new database - i could see weeks of coding.

Will Ultradev work and make my life easier?

Your thoughts are appreciated.

If your not a coder and find CF difficult then maybe this will be good for you. But CF in itself is a very easy language and the whole idea and concept is the ease and quickness at which you can produce applications.

The problem with something like Ultradev is that you never see the code as you didn't write, so if the client comes along and asks for changes, what if Ultradev cannot make these changes, you must go through all the code it created and try to learn it yourself.

Russ Michaels
russ@satachi.com
<a href= Internet Development
For my personal book recommendations visit
I worked with Dreamweaver UltraDev for a month thinking that it would be a great upgrade to my Dreamweaver/CF Studio combination. I have to say that I am fairly disappointed. Inserting ColdFusion code is not the most intuitive thing using UltraDev and I found that I could code the CF by hand much faster.
My suggestion is to code the CF by hand. ColdFusion Studio has a one button link to open a file in Dreamweaver which I have been using a lot. I develop the design of my pages with Dreamweaver and code the CF in Studio. Plus, you can do minor editing of CF statements in Dreamweaver.
I understand that everyone has a system their comfortable with, and this is mine. It's worth trying out.

Paul

Thanks so much for your replys - I downloaded the trial and found it quite cumbersome to work with - I'm sticking with CF studio.
