I also posted this in Windows XP. Hope that is not a violation.

I have Windows XP Pro machines in a W2K domain. I installed Dreamweaver Studio MX on a couple of the XP machines. I have a lot of users that can sit down at one of those machines and log into the W2K domain. They can use any of the software on the XP machine, except the Dreamweaver.

When a user (normal user privileges) tries to open Dreamweaver, it asks for the license number. I can, at that point, key in the license, and that user is then good to go from that point on--on that XP machine. Any time in the future he wants to use Dreamweaver on that machine, no problem.

No user can use Dreamweaver until I have them log in, try to open Dreamweaver, and key in the license. I am getting tired of having users log in so I can key in the Dreamweaver license number.

I have tried to set user permissions to any configuration that seems like it might work. I have not tried to share the Macromedia folder, but I don't want anyone not logged into that machine to access it.

I guess I could try a reinstall and install the Macromedia in some other place (other than the default install). But I don't know how/where to do it.

Has anyone seen/conquered this problem? Thank you very much.

is exactly how u do it....
it is a different user that is trying to run the application....user that is NOT locally defined but rather whose profile is created
how many users u got?
u can script this Key entry & DW start if u have 100s of users
also read up on "Run As" for windows installs and accounts...
All the best!
