Dreamweaver and the ampersand with in links

not valid in URL unless you have some custom URL rewrite....

What lebisol is trying to say, is that "&" in URLs have to be ampersands. because unlike normal text, the url uses the & character to separate the values that are passed in it.

Dreamweaver knows this and changes it back so that your URLS work.

URLs with & will not function correctly. in essence you'll be changing the variables from the URL, in your case q=hollywood, to amp;q=hollywood.

Which will render whatever uses that variable useless. As it wont be expecting a variable with a name like amp;q
