Where is the best place to learn how to use Dreamweaver 4, I have the Dreamweaver 4 Bible, and it is kinda difficult to use for a beginner I feel, Is there any where I can take free lesson or go through some exercises step by step to help me aquaint myself with Dreamweaver other than the lessons that come with the program, If any one can give me some feedback that would be great, I also bought fireworks 4 and I am pretty much in the same boat with that also. Thank You

I have always found the "Dummies" series of books a good start when I am completely new to a program e.g. Dreamweaver for Dummies. It will take you through the basics of the program and what things you can start to do with it. After that you can pick up your Dreamweaver Bible to go more in depth into topics. I know someone who used Dreamweaver UltraDev for Dummies to set up a prototype ecommerce site so they really do work!

To be honest I just used the help files, and messed around with the program. It took me about two weeks to get really cofortable with it, but once you do it just seems so easy. As for Fireworks I struggled for ages with it and even abandoned it at one point and went back to Photoshop. But I just messed around and tried different things out and picked it up that way. I am quite competent now.

Good luck!

Stuart

You can also download a manual for Dreamweaver from and, while you are there, they have some others for you to download, print out, and use. The Dreamweaver one is very simple to use and takes you thru the program, step by step. In fact, I am probably going to use it for teaching Dreamweaver to school district administrators and support personnel.

Hello zygo!

I haven't read any books on DW and everything I learned came from DW Tutorial and Help. Why to read someone's experience instead of developers tutorial? :)
Really good tutorial :)

Good Luck!

try browsing it's tutorial sessions first.

by the way, there is already an update for dreamweaver 4 to 4.01 if you are using Windows Me
