i'm trying to draw a clean arc as a path, and then attach text to the path to get a curving effect of the text, but darned if I can do it.

I tried to draw an ellipse and then erase half of it, but that didn't work. I'm using Fireworks 3

can anyone help?

I am a nobody, and nobody is perfect; therefore, I am perfect.

I think i figured it out. you have to use the ellipse tool and then use the alignment controls in the text window to move it around the ellipse. You can also use the flip horizontal and vertical buttons to make the text line up correctly.

It seems kind of hard to use, but it pretty much works.

just use the pen tool

insert one point then hold shift and insert the end -- then while you are holding down shift for the second point drag at a 45 degree angle (if you are still holding down shift then you will angle out to 45) and just eyeball it -- but its pretty straight forward.

Hi,

I was successful in creating the arc, but now I've typed some text. How do I make the text curved to for example, go on top of the arc? I'm using FX MX, and my only option under the Text option is Convert to Paths, which does nothing.

Don't I need to first make my arc a path?

Thanks,

Ok. I think I got it. I actually have the Attach Text to Path option. I just had to make sure that the Pen tool was selected and every object is selected.

Thanks.
