Can the output of Dragon be captured in a VB6 app, for example in a TextBox?

Dont honestly know, I would assume so.
Though if I had access to the software, a 30 second job to create a form with a textbox would prove the point - thus this would be my suggestion. apologies i am of no more help than this.

I would assume so, too.
From a documentation I found in the net:
In general, speech support can be either explicit or implicit. In the explicit case, a Web developer incorporates speech support directly into the document using the ActiveX controls in the Dragon NaturallySpeaking API. In the implicit case, the end user takes advantage of the support for Internet Explorer in the Dragon NaturallySpeaking program, and can view and navigate HTML documents that are not explicitly speech enabled.
So there is an API and there are ActiveX controls. Just add a reference to DNS and see where you get. I'm sure there is also some documentation on said ActiveX controls in the DNS documentation.

Good luck.

Yes, the Dragon software has an ActiveX element that allows you to build speech recognition into your applications if you want it to react to specific spoken commands.

If you just want to dictate a sentence into a textbox I don't think you need to do anything special in your code because Dragon 'types' what you say wherever the cursor is.

Feedback:

As hmckillop and AndyGroom suggest, it IS trivial.

Dragon NaturallySpeaking 9 will allow dictation to be output directly into a VB6 TextBox. No special coding/add-ons needed It happens as quickly and accurately as when one dictates into the DNS specialized 'Dictation Box.' There are also no differences apparent between a tiny or large VB App.

Thanks to all for their help!

Good result.
