Drag & Drop to update temp tables

I'm beginning work on a form to be used by people in the field to identify customers and schedule visits. I'd like to have an area of the form with one or two 'Containers' (I call them at present) where the user can drag and drop the account number and have that record added to a temporary table that they would be able to output to excel.

The concept of filtering is somehow incomprehensible and even ticking a checkbox to "mark" a record for later export seems too much.

I want to make this as "user-friendly" as possible, so I figure dragging the account number to a 'container' on the screen, dropping it and seeing the company name appear in the box along with a button saying, "See it in Excel" should suffice.

Should this be a table that is created, adding each record, transferred to excel and then deleted? Should I wait until the "See it in Excel" button is clicked and query the main table and send the query to Excel? Is there a difference that matters? Is there a simpler way?

TIA

John
