dr. watson stopping beengine

I have a wint nt server with be 9.1 in it. The last couple of days, the beengine.exe is stopping in the middle of the night while waiting for the second, continuation tape to be inserted the following day. The column under the elapsed time is showing an unbelievable amount of time. On the job history, it says error A00081d9..the backup exec job engine is not responding.
