Downloading Oracle 10g from Oracle Site

I am trying to download Oracle 10g from Oracle site for learning & certification purpose but I always get an error in the server, Does anybody knows the reason ?Is this a problem with oracle ftp server? this problem exist for more than 2 months and Oracle still didn't resolve it.

How to get Oracle 10g or at least 9i as I am planning to appear for exam asap? currently I am using 8i?

I had no problems.
Are you sure to have enough disk space?

How do you download?
A commandline-ftp would perhaps show some errormessage at least.

I am trying to download Oracle 10g Windows version

I have 3 GB free space in the volume I am trying to download to.

in Oracle Site I can see only http there is no ftp link

I have tried downloading from more than 5 machines OS (win200, xp ) and got exactly same error

I can't download anything from oracle site
I tried also to download linux version and got the same error message:

File Download of[ship.db.cpio.gz] was not completed successfully Server has Internal error.

The above message appear as soon as I started the download.

So It can't be I am the onloy person facing this problem I tried it from many machines different times.

Mohmdr,

If you have access to Oracle MetaLink/Oracle Technical Support, then this is a good time to use it. Once you call them, it becomes their problem/responsibility to resolve your need. Last month when I spoke with Oracle Support and I needed to obtain a patch, they told me I would need to obtain it via the web site since they no longer has a strictly ftp site for downloading patches and base installs (for what it's worth).

If you choose to get help from Oracle, please post the resolution to your problem.

But I am an Oracle learner looking for certification and I can’t call them as I didn’t bought Oracle 10g and I can’t afforded to buy it and also I don’t have support with them.

Is it Ok to call them even if I don’t have oracle ?
Are they going to help for my certification purpose?

If the download stops immediately, you probably have a default setting for downloading text.
This is normaly shown in a brief message.
Turn on binary mode, and download again.

Thanks for you reply..

I am trying to download from http link not from ftp.

I don't think there is problem with all the machine I am downloading from.

Turning to binary is required only when you use ftp not http.

Can you please try to download it from your side just to check if it is working.

I have seen the same problem in other forum with same problem.

Do you know if there any link have Oracle 10g in ftp server
as I need it urgently.

Well - I downloaded it once, and downloading 500 MB would cost me 5,-- €.

If it is a problem at the oracle-site, you wouldn't be the only one, having these problems.

I got the 10g from my firend and it is working fine , but still the problem whiTH downloading is exist but don't worry anymore as I don't require to download..
