Double the same email downloaded on outlook

Please help. My friend keeps getting two of the same emails for outlook when he/she requests for new email to be
displayed. If you close outlook and reopen outlook, then and only then will the main single email appear.

Is there anyone who can help resolve this issue?

try

tools > synchronize all(outlook express)
synchronize > all folders (outlook)


it should stop this irritating problem
