I've installed Clipper 5.3 on a WinXP box. I have a DOS Clipper program I need to modify and recompile to run as DOS under Windows. From the Clipper Workbench I can't even find the *.prg files. Did I mention that I have no documentation for Clipper?
Any suggestions, pointers, or guidance would be appreciated by this dBase programmer.

RMClark,

I've been using Clipper since the Summer 87 version, currently using 5.3b with Clip4Win 4.0. In all this time I've never been able to get that IDE to work right, so I just use a good text editor, RMake, and Blinker 6.

There are issues with Clipper programs and Windows--especially NT, W2k, and XP--that you should research. Obtaining the docs for Clipper would be my first step, then read everything you can find on Clipper--especially on this site--so that you will be able to recognize these issues when the arrise.

Also, before you get too deep into DOS Clipper, check out the Harbour and xHarbour systems. You may want to bypass these DOS/Windows conversion issues and start directly in a 32 bit Windows environment.

Best Regards,
David Tracy
