DOS printer printing two copies

HI,

A user is running a DOS application on Windows 2000. The printer that he uses for printing from this application died and I have replaced it. I have mapped an lpt port to this new printer using a net use command.

However, whenever he prints anything from DOS, two copies come out. I have deleted the port and added it again, but it still happens.

any ideas?

Is the printer connected directly to the PC or is the printer networked?
