I have an Aiphone LEM-1DL that I want to activate via IP Office's EXT O/P port.

Am I blind or is there no documentation on how to PHYSICALLY connect the IPO to the Aiphone?

There's talk of a "pre made cable" available, etc. but are there any part number for the wire, relayes, etc?

The door phone would connect to an analogue extension port. Assuming the Aiphone uses an analogue extension. Somre door phones have a power pack and connect to an analogue trunk port.

The EXT O/P port on the back of the IPO supplies two relay ports which can be used to activate electronic door releases.

Ok. I can see where I wasn't clear.

I want to open the door strike that the Aiphone currently opens with the O/P port.

But the O/P port puts out 48V DC (something like that. I dont have the docs here in front of me) and the door strike opens with a 11~16V AC current.

What typically goes between point A and B?

I thought the IPO contacts are just open/close, like a doorbell button, and would just be used to signal an external controller to do its job and open the door. The IP Office port will really supply some voltage and enough current to operate a door strike?

Anyway, there are some good specs at on that door controller.

Yeah. I figured that, but what goes between the O/P port and the strike plate? What's the relay? What are the terminals on the Aiphone (if I were to go through that) ?

That's what I'm asking. I pulled the Aiphone off the wall and between the door and Aiphone there are relays. I tried hooking the IP Office up to the relays and got nothing. I figured there were terminals on the Aiphone that I would screw the wires from the O/P port down to, but I don't know which ones. I read the PDF's on that very link, and I can't find where you'd wire up the O/P. Even if it was just a button like a door bell.. where would it go?

The IPO just completes a circuit. You may need someone with electronic experience to draw you a diagram.

The EXT O/P should be in series with the coil of the relay

Remember there is 3 contacts on the 3.5 stereo plug that goes into the EXT O/P. It switches across the tip and the other two contacts.

Remember to activate the relay there is a short code to pulse relay 1 or 2

Take a headphones jack (RADIO SHACK) cut the cable, strip the wires to expose the copper, connect to your strikeplate connection point. use relay 2 pulse as the feature.
