I have put a report on our intranet but it displays data instead of prompting for parameters unless the refresh button on the Crystal toolbar is clicked.

"Save data with reports" isn't checked and when I print preview the report in Crystal Reports the parameters automatically appear. I've compared the settings to other reports on the intranet that don't have this problem and can't see any differences.

Am I missing something obvious?

Thanks.

How did you place this report on your intranet?

If you used Crystal Enterprise/RAS, you must open each parameter and select prompt user.

Then make sure you click update after you set each parm to display.

So the propmpts don't appear until you hit refresh?
Are you passing parameters in the URL?
Is the data that appears on the first run current or old?
What parameter values is it using for first run?
(if you don't know, place the parameters onto the report so that it shows you).

It is also possible that you have 2 copies of the report, one saved with data and one not. Make a minor change to the report and confirm that this change shows up on the Intranet.

Thanks synapsevampire and kenhamady. I found the solution - I thought I'd checked the "discard saved data when loading report" checkbox option but it didn't seem to save. I've checked it again and saved the report and it appears to work.

Thanks again.
