Using Domino r5.01 and a web spider, the web spider sends request with HTTP header field "If-Modified-Since" set to "Thu, 01 Jan 1970 00:00:01" and the domino server responds with:

304 Not Modified Last-Modified: Mon, 20 Mar 2000 09:04:24
GMT. Expires: Mon, 20 Mar 2000 09:04:24 GMT.
Now, either I'm not understanding RFC 2068 (HTTP 1.1) or Lotus Domino server has a bug. I tried this against their website (<A HREF=" TARGET="_new"> running domino 5.02c) and it gave the same response, file was modified today, but HTTP 304, Not Modified since jan 1st, 1970.
All details trapped using an ethernet packet sniffer. Ideas anyone?
